Is your Powerwall quote fair?

Use the installed cost per kWh to judge a home battery quote. That number lets you compare a Powerwall with other brands.

Typical installed (~13.5 kWh)
~$15,647

Per kWh installed
$1,130–$1,159

How to check your quote

  1. Divide the total price by usable kWh. Our math: a $15,647 quote ÷ 13.5 kWh ≈ $1,159/kWh, at the top of EnergySage's range.
  2. Ask whether a panel upgrade, gateway, or trenching is included or extra.
  3. Ask whether it backs up the whole home or only essential loads.
  4. Don't count the 30% federal credit. The IRS says installs completed after 12/31/2025 don't qualify. Details →
